WCMRC Spill Response Facility

This project involves the construction of a new two-storey, steel-framed office and warehouse facility located on the Nanaimo Port Authority property at the Nanaimo Assembly Wharves in Nanaimo, BC. The building covers 1,710 m² and features a two-storey office area equipped with an elevator, curtain wall glazing, and spaces designed for meeting rooms, offices, staff changerooms, and amenity areas.

The warehouse component includes a double-height shop space with a small steel-framed mezzanine, an exterior covered work area, and a recessed loading dock. Access is provided by overhead roll-up doors on two sides of the building.

The exterior features a mix of cladding materials, including insulated metal sandwich panels, fibre cement and engineered wood cladding, and metal composite panel accents. The project also includes all associated structural, electrical, mechanical, fire suppression, civil site works, fencing, and roadway improvements.
