Mid-Town Water Supply
The Midtown Water Supply Project involves constructing two major water pipelines to replace the City’s aging and undersized infrastructure currently supplying potable drinking water to central and northern areas. This project will strengthen the existing water supply network and improve resiliency within the City’s core.
The Primary Transmission Watermain will deliver treated potable water from a connection point at College Drive near the Nanaimo Parkway to the Labieux Road pump station.
The Secondary Transmission Watermain will provide system redundancy, supplying treated potable water along Bowen Road from Pryde Avenue to East Wellington Road, continuing along East Wellington to the Nanaimo Parkway, and following the same route as the new Primary Watermain to the Labieux Road pump station.
